Korla to Luntai (Bugar). Luntai to Tazhong in the Taklamakan Desert. Tazhong to Niya (Minfeng). Niya to Keriya (Yutian). Keriya to Hotan (Hetian). And back again...all on a Chinese motorcycle. Whew!

The only gas station for 250+ km in either direction is at Tazhong (which literally means "middle of the Taklamakan"). I was their first foreign customer. Fill 'er up!

My sparse but comfortable room in Tazhong. The place I stayed at was a cross between a trucker's hostel and a brothel. I slept really well, though.
