Come Together
I'm moving beyond mere "word blogging" where I tell you what to think, albeit in a deceptively humorous fashion. Now I'm "picture blogging"... take a look at the images below and come to your own conclusions! That is, if there are any to come to.
Fairly random shots from my visit to Urumqi two weeks ago:

Can you find the common thread? Now you're getting the picture. Get it? Picture is a double entendre. I love italics. Hah! I kill me.
P.S. Check out this gem of a photo showing Uncle Kurban Turum recalling his famous meeting with Mao. Most posed photo ever!

You white people capitalizing in China are fucking crazy. You fail to recognize the historical pattern and you will suffer for exploiting the Chinese:::
- Death Valley borax mines abused the Chinese and great misery befell them.
- The fisheries on Monterey's Cannery Row exploited the Chinese badly. Cannery Row remains a rebar-studded, uncompleted eyesore for decades as a clue.
The gods are preying on you and using the evil company you work for to accomplish this. Everytime you exploit the Chinese you are losing time and priveledge on the other planets.
Asians are the gods most favored race. It is evident in their uniformity. It is evident in their cultures.
The gods place high barriers to entry for (some) Asians into the United States. This is yet another good example of reverse positioning, for the gods are really trying to protect those whom they grant favor upon.
There are no barriers to entry for Latinos.
When white people capitalize or exploit Asians they incurr and one day will be punished. This includes Chinese buffet restaurants, so prevalient in disfavored cities and the Southern United States, for the gods hate these people and want them to incurr.

I always felt that this excellent blog did not deserve most of the dumb comments attached to each entry. However, I must say that this one takes the cake.

If this is the same man in the recent photo current who shakes hands with Chairman Mao then he must be atleast 120 years old and that would of been recorded as the oldest man alive , which it is not to date since the oldest man is 111 in Japan and not this man.So it is not the same man unless he true age has gone un recorded

We are looking to adopt a child of atleast 2 years old from Xinjiang or some other province in China but we will not give in to the profiteiring of paying some adoption agency or Orphaige 17,000 US dollars to give a child a better life. We live in the USA and have a nice home and good life to offer a child who we can adopt without paying money for. Do you know of such an agency? contact us at mail11@sbcglobal.net
All inquiries will be investigated to assure they are legitimate. We can come to China, No problem I have been to China many many times, and travel their each year. My wife is Chinese and speaks fluent chinese.
Thank you

@frank:
The original photo of Uncle Kurban shaking hands with Mao is from 1959, so I imagine that the second photo was taken sometime in the 1960s. So, he's not necessarily that old... I'm sure he's dead.
I don't know of any adoption agencies in Xinjiang, but if I hear of anything I'll let you know.

Michael,
Do you feel the BBC is talking out of their ass there?
"Uighurs, who are ethnically Turkic Muslims, share a history in which victims outnumber heroes, and stories of persecution overshadow tales of greatness."
History showed that Turkic people, as the mounted archers in old world, were always a military might that ran many civilizations, especially North China over and over. Uighurs, as the most friendly nomads to Han Chinese, was at one point had the chance to take over China but decided not to do so.
"For centuries, Uighurs fought the Chinese over the land they call Eastern Turkistan. But on the map it is called Xinjiang, and it lies in the north of China."
Uighur didn't fought the Chinese (I think the arthur means Han Chinese here) for tens of centuries. The 1st ETR was took down by Hui Muslim forces, and 2nd ETR never went to war with Communists at all. Even when General Zuo's troop under Manchu was fighting Yakub Beg of Kokand.
"They never leave us alone. You go out in the street, you go to a market, and police just beat you."
Damn. The police would be very busy. There are almost 9M of Uighurs who would go out in the street and go to a market.
"They call us all terrorists, but what makes us terrorists? Just the fact that we are Uighurs?"
So BBC is telling the British readers that China called everyone of Uighur a terrorist?

well, when you lie you lose you credubility. This applies to both Chinese propaganda and West proganda. YOu make a small lie, people may still believe you. You make big lies that don't make sense at all in real life, people stop believing you except the ones who think with their ass.

My wife bought a calendar about China and its scenic views which is published in USA. When I saw the map on the calendar, it is kind of strange, and finally figure out the map has NO Tibet in it. My wife is like--what fuck? She is an admire of Dalai Lama and we both have good Tibetan friends here, but even her feeling the whole thing is a kind of stupid to teach Americans about this issue.
Anyway, Richard Gere just did a US Congress hearing about China with some of intentioned misinformations.
1) He said that at 1950, Chinese communist government divided Great Tibet with half as TAR, and other half went to other provinces.
2) He said that USA needs to prevent what Communist did in Inner Mongolia and Manchura by using Han Chinese to overflood Mongols and Manchu.

Han Chinese suck. The Uighurs should be given their own country and should not be made to live with the Han Chinese nationalists.
